Happy Friday!
Here's your quick, bi-weekly update. As a backer I know I like to be kept in the loop. My goal is always to give you the experience I want to have.
Origins Game Fair What a blast! People were intrigued about Cryptid Creek, the display with large art drew them in. One person even correctly identified the Snallygaster! It absolutely made my day.
Here's a picture of me in front of the demo table. You can see Cryptid Creek, and the Snallygaster, are front and center. As for me? I'm contemplating bodies (check out the ground next to me).
Poll Results Are In! You've spoken and the results are in: Sasquatch Feet and Yeti Torso it is! I love this combination. You get the iconic Bigfoot feet everyone expects while adding some variety with a snowy white Yeti torso. Thanks to all the backers who voted.
Art Update Illustrations continue to come in from Leslie and they look fantastic. I'll share more images in the next update.
Still on Track Everything remains on schedule for both PNP and physical copies.

New Art from Leslie
The illustrations continue to look amazing! Here are a couple more draft Specimen Vault cards to give you a better sense of how your cryptids are taking shape. Leslie's on track to finish illustratons on schedule.Wondering what those lines represent? The outer ones represent bleed, meaning where we expect the cards to be cut. Full color printing requires this because sometimes there's small shifts between printing and cutting. If there's no bleed, you end up with a white edge.
The rest of the lines create a grid, which enables Leslie to create illustrations that will line up between cards. These lines won't be in the final images.

Cryptid Paper Figure Kit Update
Here are details on your Success Reward. The Crafty Cryptid Collection is even better than I originally planned. Every backer will receive the following as digital print files (preprinted physical copies will be available to purchase).
Sticker Sheets (PNP)
Cryptid Activity Book - 60+ pages of cryptid fun (PNP)
Cryptid Paper Figures (PNP)
These will all be designed by experienced artist and paper crafter Monette Satterfield of Shiny Designs. Think paper doll-sized cryptid parts you can cut out and assemble for creating your own cryptid characters, plus tons of activities and stickers for cryptid enthusiasts of all ages!
Sasquatch vs Yeti Poll - Your Input Needed!
I currently have a Sasquatch Torso and Sasquatch Feet designed (we HAVE to have iconic Bigfoot feet!). However, I'm wondering if for variety one of those should be colored as a Yeti (white) rather than Sasquatch (brown). I've included the draft images with both as Sasquatch. Please vote below.

Thank you for supporting Cryptid Creek and making it a reality. It's hard to find words to express appreciation when people you don't know support something close to your heart.
$2,102 funded with 101 amazing backers. Every single pledge, share, comment, and BGG wishlist addition helped create something special. You are the reason my simple idea about small-town hoaxes will become a board game.
What Happens Next:
📅 June Illustrations - Leslie is continuing work on the illustrations, and expects to wrap them up by the end of the month. I'll share new images throughout the month as part of my updates. I know it's fun to see the creative process behind a game.
📦 Production Timeline - Print files will be ready once art is complete. Cards go to print immediately after, and on track for shipping in October 2026. We expect PNP files to be ready for you in August 2026.
📧 Survey Coming July You'll receive a BackerKit survey to confirm addresses and add-ons. No rush, you'll have plenty of time.

The Printable Cryptid Paper Figure Kit is officially coming to all backers. I'll have the full details ready in early June.
Component Update The player bidding tokens and first player marker are looking fantastic! We've decided to upgrade to wood to make bidding feel more tactile and fun.
Each player has 2 pairs of tokens for bidding on Specimen Vault cards (the cryptid body parts!). The Mothman head token is for first player.

I had way too much fun last weekend printing oversized versions of our body parts on cardstock and cutting them out for "cryptid sightings" around town. It was so entertaining that I've decided our next Success Reward will be a Printable Cryptid Paper Figure Kit.
